Do you love to shop? Do you love helping put an end to human trafficking? If you love to do both things, then the Free2Work app is for you!!! Free2Work is an app that the organization Not For Sale made to help consumers learn more about what forced labor, child labor and human trafficking practices go into the products you buy from your favorite brands. In my opinion it's really easy to use and the thing I like the most about it is that it grades companies and products on a scale from "A" to "F." Let's just say in the future I won't be buying a lot of things from my favorite store, Forever 21.
If you don't have a smartphone or iPod touch and want to learn more about your favorite companies and products, you can do so by logging on to Free2Work's website. Or if you want to download the actual mobile app to your Mac or PC, then I suggest getting a program called the Blue Stacks app player.
How The Free2Work App Works:
You scan the barcode of an item you like in a store. After a little bit of waiting, the companies or products rating should come up on a screen that looks like this...
The app then will give an overall rating of the company or product and will also tell you a little bit why it has that rating.
If you don't want to scan an item's barcode, that's fine. You can always go back to the homepage of the app, click one of the featured industries...
... And BAM!!! You have a list of a ton of different companies and their overall ratings.
